Educators in the Age of AI: Professional Practice, Leadership, and Educational Change

Introduction

Artificial intelligence is reshaping teaching, learning, assessment, and educators’ professional practice. This Special Session explores how teachers, educational leaders, students, and institutions engage with AI-enabled technologies and respond to AI-related educational change.
We welcome empirical, theoretical, and practice-based studies across all educational settings. Submissions should address a clear application, implementation, evaluation, or implication of AI in education.

We invite papers on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Generative AI in teaching, learning, feedback, and assessment
  • AI literacy, teacher education, and professional learning
  • Teacher agency, professional practice, and adaptation to AI
  • Educational leadership and institutional support for AI adoption
  • AI-supported assessment, academic integrity, and assessment reform
  • Intelligent tutoring systems, chatbots, learning analytics, and personalised learning
  • Students’ and educators’ experiences, attitudes, and concerns regarding AI
  • Ethical, equitable, inclusive, and responsible uses of AI in education
  • Institutional policy, governance, and implementation of AI-enabled educational systems
  • AI-related educational change across early childhood, school, higher, vocational, adult, and distance education
