Pyramid Will never put a cap on your
usage
Unlike the growing trend amongst other providers, Pyramid
will never limit your usage of your broadband. We have been
working to increase our main feed so that our customers can take
advantage of the growing internet technology like online TV,
video rentals, streaming media and online gaming. "Capping" is
monitoring your usage and when you reach their "cap", you are
charged extra if you go over.
So if you're looking for an ISP that allows
you to use your internet the way you want to, then you've come
to the right place.
Remote Access software
Pyramid.Net Tech Support is pleased to announce they have added
a remote system to help with tech support issues. It’s a simple
program that allows Pyramid.Net Tech Support the ability to
remotely control a customer’s computer. This is only with the
customer's permission and only when the customer initiates the
connection. It allows the technician to see what the customer is
seeing and fix problems in many cases. Once the technician is
finished, the connection is closed and the program removes
itself from the customer's computer. This will greatly aid in
improving Pyramid.Net's customer support and in many cases
replace the need for an on-site visit from a field tech.
A Change is in the works: Update 8/16/08
The process of changing over of our
backbone to a bigger, faster line is underway. The construction
for the new line to our facilities has begun with an expected
due date of November. We are currently working through the IP
address changeover for our customers as well. This involves switching
ALL
IP addresses over to new numbers. Those who are experienced at
setting up your router/computers with your IP information,
please email
support@pyramid.net or call Todd at 888-6013 and he will
assign your new numbers for you and walk you through changing
them. For those who are not experienced at doing this on their
own, we can set up a visit by our field support.
VOIP Systems ready
We have finished the testing on our new VOIP
systems and they are now available for our customers.
Please go to the "services" tab above and click on VOIP under
the menu for more information or contact us at the office for
billing/availability for your location. We would like to thank
our customers who helped with the testing phase.
A Change is in the works
We are working on a very big change for our
network and our clients to include the following...
-
Largest upgrade for Pyramid in it's 12
years
-
Triple our current capacity with other
surprises on the horizon
-
DSL speeds will double over the next few
months where possible
-
Lower latency for games/streaming video
-
Supporting HD Video Programming for home
entertainment

Internet phones and your DSL-important
This is a reminder that your DSL services
REQUIRE an ATT hardline phone line into your house. Switching over to
these new phone systems like Charter, Vonage, Verizon VOIP, and
Echelon will terminate the data line needed for your DSL to
function. We have seen a growing number of customers lately who
have been given incorrect information in order to get you to
change your phone service, only to find their DSL connection
suddenly terminated. After which it can take weeks to get the
circuit rebuilt. So if you are considering
ANY change in your
phone provider and have a DSL line, please give our tech support
a call first to check if it will work with your internet
connection.

With the cost of equipment going up we are forced to
have to charge $30 for replacement DSL modems. As always, the initial modem and
installation is still free. This is only for a replacement should one be needed.
